Taman Sari was once the sultan's retreat. The bathing pools still stand, and the underground tunnels stay cool even at noon. We wandered every corner, imagining life in another era.
A local guide shared many legends. My wife was most struck by the circular underground mosque with its unique acoustics. We left with our heads full of stories.
