A calming grandeur in the heart of the capital — where we paused for a while.
We arrived just before the afternoon prayer, with Jakarta's sky turning amber. The moment we stepped inside, the city's noise seemed to stay behind at the door. The vast main hall made us feel small, and somehow that was exactly where the peace lived.
My wife loved the calligraphy on the dome the most. We sat on the veranda for a long time, not talking much, just enjoying the breeze. One of the most peaceful evenings we've ever had.
